Going beyond

God may at times call you to something beyond yourself. Something that almost seems impossible -but remember Jesus’ words in Matthew 19:26:With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”. To discover God’s plan for you requires that you take a leap of faith. It requires that you trust Him and that you trust His ways, even when He calls you out of your comfort zone.

I have decided that it’s time to make peace with God. I am taking a leap of faith and trusting and hoping that I, by surrendering myself to the One, who has created me, will come to experience the fullness of life in a new way. I desire to know Him, to become more like Him and to live out the purpose, He has intended for my life, so as from today I’ll will try to worry less about what I’m capable of and what I’m not capable of and allow Him to lead. Crossing the line of everything that is safe is costly, but so is not crossing it. It is costly for the people who live across the line from my comfort zone, because they may never come to hear the message of Christ, nor never know the dimensions of God’s Love, because I choose to play it safe.

A while ago I came across a quote by the German writer Goethe. He writes: “Hell begins the day God grants you the vision to see all that you could have done, should have done, and would have done, but did not do”. With these words of wisdom I’m committing myself to do, what I ought to do. I’m committing myself to trust in God. Committing myself to go beyond myself. We are all travelers in the sense of being missionaries, being those sent out. We are all called to love, and a part of answering this call is to love one another. It is easy to love those similar to you and those you already love, but to be a carrier of God’s Love is to also love those you don’t know and those who are not easy to love. I’m letting Him send me out to make His Love known to the world. I’m leaving everyone I love - to love.

This website, and everything that comes with it, marks the farthest I have ever been and the most I have ever done for God. As you read these lines I have just stepped over my line. This is my way of telling God: I trust in You! So God, if you are reading this: prepare me, cleanse me, water me, soften me,  mold me, shape me, rework me if necessary, seal me and use me.

I hope my journey will show you what it means to go beyond.  I ask you to take a moment of reflection and consider what Christ can do in you, if you accept His invitation to “Come and See!”.
Too often we limit what God can do in us and through us, because we hesitate. We are afraid of stepping across the line of everything that is familiar, convenient and comfortable. We are afraid of trusting God, afraid of following Him to the place, He calls us.
Trusting God, Mette
